Gangolli, May 22: There has been severe sea erosion at Gangolli even before the launch of monsoon. The sea erosion has been experienced near Gangolli light house and the lower areas of Kharvikeri and on Wednesday it has increased.
The mud-road constructed near the light house has been washed away and there have been damages to the fishing boat anchored at the shore. The sea has already acquired up to 50-60 meters of the shore.
The residents around the area are in a panic state and the fishermen have opined that the erosion may still increase. None of the leaders or officials have visited the place and taken stock of the situation.
