Mangalore, Mar 22: M.R. Vasudeva filed his nomination as AAP candidate from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency on March 22, Saturday. He submitted his nomination papers to Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim who is also the District Returning Officer.
But, there was some confusion prior to the filing of nomination as Robert Rosario, a former district convenor of the party openly aired his resentment over Vasudeva’s candidature and charged him of being ‘communal.’
He also alleged that Vasudeva had attended a programme by Namo Brigade recently and added he had sent a photograph of the same to the AAP leadership in Delhi.
Another serious allegation leveled by him was that the process of selecting AAP candidate was unconstitutional. “Only a few out of the 10,000 AAP members in the district are with Vasdueva while the remaining support me,” Robert Rosario claimed.
However, speaking to reporters later, Vasudeva refuted the allegations of Robert Rosario and said “Prior to joining the AAP I attended BJP and Congress programmes whenever I was invited as a common man. However, I have not attended any such programme after joining AAP.
Jayaprakash, an AAP member who was present said Robert Rosario was no longer in the party as he has been expelled.
