Udupi, Mar 22: Women empowerment is not possible only through reservations, women themselves have to take firm decisions and move forward, only then can be successful in their life, says Kanagavalli who is the Administrative officer of Udupi Jilla Panchayat.
She addressed the gathering after inaugurating the women’s day celebration held at Rajangana of Udupi Shri Krishna Matt on Friday. The event was organised in association with Udupi JP, Women and children development authority, District women’s association and Lifeline Telecom and Android Education Services.
“Very less women have achieved and established themselves in various fields. In rural areas women are still facing bad conditions, the development is not equal. Women are not always meant to sacrifice their lives for others, they should also live for themselves,” said Kanagavalli motivating the women crowd.
The occasion was marked by felicitating women achievers from different fields. Divyarani, Vasanthi Ramabhat, Prakruthi guruprasad Shetty were felicitated.
Vasanthi Rao welcomed the gathering, Sadhananda Nayak presented the vote of thanks. Program was hosted by Vina.
