Mangalore, Mar 22: As the Lok sabha election is getting closer, model election code of conduct is being followed strictly.
Dr. Shantheshwar Swami who is the Expenditure controller for Central Election Commission has ordered the respective authorities to take care of major bank transactions.
He was addressing the officials from various departments at the meeting held at DC office here on Friday. All the transactions above Rs. 100000 should be reported to Election commission, he said.
District Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim mentioned that Candidates can spend up to 20 lakh as part of election expenditure, but need to have separate account for the same purpose. Candidates’ and their relatives’ transactions should be closely inspected, he added.
