Udupi, Mar 20: BJP candidate from Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency, Shobha Karandlaje filed her nomination on the very first day with District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Muddumohan. It was a surprise to know that no one was informed about her filing nomination.
It is learnt that, some senior district party leaders were informed prior to the nomination. The media as well as party workers came to know about it only in the evening.
Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde informed that Shobha filed nomination on Thursday as it was an auspicious day and nomination was filed at 11.55 am in the presence of him, District BJP Vice President Mattar Ratnaker Hegde, Udaykumar Shetty, Suresh Nayak and other leaders.
Crorepathi Karandlaje: In the affidavit filed along with her nomination, the BJP candidate Shobha has disclosed about her assets and liabilities. She has informed that all her movable and immovable assets are valued at Rs 7,20,84,452 and that she had a loan of Rs 3,81,19,792.
As per the affidavit she has a cash of Rs 1.76 lakhs, deposits of Rs 4.38 lakhs in Apex Bank Bangalore, Rs 4.46 lakhs in Canara Bank, Rs 75.38 lakhs in Federal Bank and Rs 6.54 lakh fixed deposit in ING Vaishya Ban. She has invested Rs 50,000 in Kapila Manjushree Apparels and has a total of four policies worth Rs 2.6 lakhs with LIC. She has two policies worth Rs 9 lakhs of Birla Sunlife Insurance and has provided around Rs 9.5 lakhs as loan.
Her other assets include a Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Innova 2010 and 2013 model cars worth Rs 26 lakhs. She has one kg gold valued at Rs 27 lakhs, 650 grams of gold jewels, 1400 grams silver jewels and 220 grams silver articles worth Rs 10 lakhs.
She has no farm land but has 15.5 cents site in Puttur, 50×80 site at HSR Layout Bangalore worth Rs 2 crore and Rs 10 lakhs respectively.
She has availed a loan of Rs 5.66 lakhs from Federal Bank for her Toyota Fortuner Vehicle and Rs 8.81 lakh loan for Toyota Innova. She has a loan of Rs 3.66 crore in the name of Adarsha Developers.
She has given her address as Bangalore Kumarapark West, 9th Cross, Bangalore and that her name is registered in Shivajinagar assembly constituency limits.
