Udupi: Awareness Convention on March 01, to deliver and implement Congress Govt’s programmes to the people

Udupi; Feb 26: While speaking Veronica Karnelio, president of Udupi district Mahila Congress said that District Mahila Congress activist’s convention will be held on March 01, to deliver and implement the 10 years achievements and programmes of the UPA government led by congress at the centre to the common people through Mahila congress activists.

On March 01, convention will be held at Udupi Ammani Ramanna Shetty Auditorium. Various programmes of Sonia Gandhi, president of National Congress and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh like 50% women’s reservation, food security Act, Right to Education Act, the Land Acquisition Act, Violence against women prevention Act, Right to Information Act, the Employment Guarantee Scheme and state chief minister Siddaramaih’s Anna Bhagya and Ksheera Bhagya scheme, Various Department’s loan waiver,Ashraya Schem’s loan waiver, interest-free loans to post pre-degree students, transparent governance and other programmes, steps taken for the implementation of election manifesto etc will be discussed in the convention, she informed.

The procession, which starts at 10.00 am in the morning from service bus stand will be inaugurated by women congress activists and MP K.Jayaprakash Hegde.Vinaya Kumar ‘Sorake,minister for urban development and District in charge will inaugurate in Ammani Ramanna Shetty Auditorium at 10.00 am in the morning.Manjula Naidu, State Mahila Congress president will preside over the function.

It is expected that more than 5000 Mahila Congress activists will be participated.

District Congress president, MLA Gopal Poojary, Vidhana Parishat member Pratapchandra Shetty, Udupi legislator Pramodh Madhwaraj, Puttur legislator Shakuntala Shetty, former MLA Gopal Bhandary would attend the convention.
