Mangalore, Feb 1: The PG Department of Food Science and Technology (FST) of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), organized a day long workshop on Italian cuisine at College campus on January 30, Thursday.
The workshop displayed a wide range of fresh and colourful food items from Italy, combined in simple ways to preserve the identity of the ingredients, which will be later enjoyed in a communal setting with family and friends.
Mr Alberto Pesani, Ms Silvana Rizzi and Ms Franca Cornelli from Milan, Italy participated as the resource persons and demonstrated the preparation of pastas (With Zuchini and Egg plant ingredients), Pineapple cream cake and Italian Risotto.
The workshop was organized with a view to get a taste of unique cuisine of Italy to the students of Food Science and Technology and public at large. A total of fifteen participants were chosen along with the FST students.
Further the Department will aim to organize many such workshops introducing cuisines of various countries like Germany, Sweden, France etc.
