Customs officials arrests a passenger carrying 1350.8 grams of gold at Mangalore Airport

Mangalore, Feb 1: The customs officials arrests a passenger and seized 1350.8 grams of gold worth Rs.40,48,450 arrived  by Air India Express Flight IX814 from Dubai at Mangalore International Airport on Feb 1, Saturday.

The arrested is identified as Mohammed Azhar, hailing from Bhatkal at 7 am and seized one KG of Gold bar and eight silver coated gold wires totally weighing 1350.8 grams concealed in a beading of a trolley bag.

The passenger was arrested and produced before the Magistrate and has been remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days.

The team of officials conducted the operation under the supervision of Krishna Kumar Prasad, Asst. Commissioner of Customs MIA and further investigation will be conducted under the supervision of D. Purushotham, Commissioner of Customs.
