Moodbidri; Jan 31: Through appropriate solid waste management, Moodbidri Municipal Corporation was qualified for national award for its outstanding achievements in systematic solid waste management performance.
About local organization’s solid waste management, a ‘Power point conference’ was organized by Kolkata based ‘ICON ‘an international company in Hyderabad from Jan 28 to Jan 30.In this conference, authorities of country’s selected town panchayats, municipal councils and city corporation’s have participated and produced related documents about solid waste management informations.In this, Moodbidri municipal corporation was qualified for an award.
Rayappa, Chief executive of Moodbidri municipal council has received the national award from E.S.L.Narasimhan, Governor of Andhra Pradesh in a programme held on Jan 30, Thursday.
Moodbidri municipal council and Andhra Pradesh’s Guntakal city corporation have jointly received the first place ‘Award of Excellent in SWM’for their outstanding achievements in solid waste management.

Bangalore University’s department of water resources and produce, engineering department has visited the Moodbidri’s Karinje solid waste management unit on Jan 18 and submitted the report.Moodbidri municipal council was selected in ‘ICON’ company organized conference in Hyderabad on the basis of report submitted.Tumkur’s Sera municipality bagged the second prize.
