Mangalore, Nov.7: Regarding to the silver jubilee celebration of Shanthi Prakashana publication launched ‘Shanthigagi Sahitya’ (literature for peace) a month long state-wide campaign held at Town Hall from Nov 4 to Nov 7. On Nov. 6 woman programme also held.
The state vice convener of Karnataka Women Department Shameera Jahan presided over the function.
In her presidential address she said that literature is inventive and good issue. Knowledge is a light. No one can off that. Like that a lover of literature cannot stay in darkness. If there is darkness in the society a literate will light the lamp of knowledge in the middle she added. And also will give goodness to others.
She further said that in the occasion of the silver jubilee celebration of Shanthi Prakshana we should try to learn about books on peace. The literatures should help the society to overcome from depression. All religion information was in the books of Shanthi prakashana. So we should have the responsibility to reach the books of Shanthi Prakashana to every school, houses she said.
Poetess meet was held in the woman’s programme in the presidential of Ayesha U.K. Janaki Brahmavara, Yashodha Menon, Gulabi Bilimale, Salma, Sukhalakshi, Maryam, Ismail, Noorjahan Hospet were present. Hawwa binthi Aboobakar in recognition of her three-decade long efforts towards promoting Islamic literature among Kannada readers she was felicitated by the shanthi prakashana.
