Udupi: PUC student shot himself to death with his father’s country made licensed gun; Suicide or accidental …???

Udupi; Nov 08: A case of suicide has been reported in Karaje village near Brahmavar, wherein Pre-degree student identified as Shreyas Shetty said to be in depression committed suicide by shooting himself in his father’s licensed country made gun on Nov 07, Thursday at around 07.20 am.

According to the sources, Shreyas Shetty, who went to the nearby farm carrying his father’s gun in the pretext of scaring away the monkies, which were damaging the crop. He did not return for long time and heard a gunshot after some time. When worried mother started searching for him, she found his dead body in the farm.

Sources also said that Shreyas was studying in first year PUC in Vidyodaya College, Udupi and failed in recently held examination. His parents were called by the college principal and informed about his poor performance and advised them to inform his son to be improved. Shreyas promised them improved perforation in the next examination.

Besides, he himself purchased clothes of his choice for the workers, who are working in the farm and busted fire cracker during Deepavali celebration. After two days of Diwali celebration, he took this drastic step of committing suicide.

Shreyas is a son of Suresh Shetty, president of village panchayat and Vimala,a house wife.

 Brahmavar police, who arrived to the place of incident and conducted an inquiry.The body has been sent for post-mortem. Ballistic experts inspected the scene of the incident. Exact cause of his suicide is not known.
