Mangalore, Nov.8: The flexi milk sales unit of Dakshina Kannada district milk co-operative union was inaugurated by Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji of Ramachandrapur Mutt.
The total cost of the unit is Rs 26.5 crore and funded by NABARD.
In his address, the seer said dairy farming goes a long way in sustaining rural life.
JR Lobo, MLA of Mangalore South, said that in the co-operative field KMF provided good service to the customer. He also appreciates the quality products delivered by KMF.
Raviraj Hegde, President of the Union presided over the function. And he said that the flexi pack products will reach the people of district within one year. Karnataka Milk Federation will have a capacity of producing 6000 litres of milk in flexi packets, in an hour. From this unit we will get 15,000 K.g cream, 6 ton butter, 1 ton paneer and 20, 000milk.
NABARD CGM G.R. Chintala, Rajendra Kumar, SCDCC Bank Chairman, AN Premnath, KMF Managing Director, Dr BV Satyanarayana, Managing Director of DK District Milk Co-operative Union, Bhasker K, Corporator and others were present.
