Mnagalore, Oct. 18: Demanding for CBI probe into the rape and murder case of Sowjanya, a student of SDM College and the other murder case took place at Belthangady various organizations started a day long hunger strike at Police Ground Belthangady on Oct. 18 Friday.
The associations chose October 18 as it is the birth day of Sowjanya.
The state secretary of CPM G.V. Shri Rama Reddy inaugurated the strike. In his speech he said that the death of Saujanya is lesson for the whole country not only for the people of Dharmasthala.On the occasion of Saujanya’s birthday we are urging the government to hand over the case to CBI. If they do not take further step on this we will spread it from the regional level to national level. A protest also will be staged in front of CM’s house in Bangalore he warned.
DYFI, SFI, CPM, JMS, Akhila Bharatha Janathavadi Mahila Sanghatane and many people were take part in the protest. Even Saujany’s parents, relatives participated in the protest.
The member of MCC Dayananda Shetty, Shiva Kumar, Atradi Amrita Shetty,Muneer Kaatipalla were present.
