Mangalore, Oct 18: Tension prevails near Ullal Dargah premises. A fight erupted between two Muslims groups SSF and SKSSF in the Ullal area on Friday October 18.
Sources said the quarrel arise between Ullal Darga Committee and New Masjid Committee over the issue of offering ‘first Juma prayers’ after Eid-ul-adha at Ullal Darga premises.
As per the source, a Qazi fromKerala offered prayers at the new Darga on October 18 along with the SSF association. During this time two members from SKSSF entered the new darga and stabbed two peoples.
It is said that as many 1,000 people had come to offer prayers. It is said that people of Posapalli committee had tried to seek permission from Kazi to offer first namaz after Bakrid, but as he wasn’t available they couldn’t get the permission.
The Police as per orders stopped people from entering the Dargah which led to quarrel. did Then the police then resorted to lathi charge. During the clash, few police have been reported as injured.
Ullal and Konaje Police are at the spot tried to control the situation.
