Elections to be held constitutionally and in accordance with the law: says Hegde

Udipi; July 31: Addressing the DK zilla milk producer’s vokkoota meet, President Raviraja Hegde said in his address that in Udipi 35, Karkala 25 and Kundapura 30 Sahakari milk producers’ sanghas exists and election will be held in all these sanghas on August 25.

Law is more important than any bye-laws of the sanghas.Therefore all the sanghas have been advised to adhere to the amended bye-laws of the sahakari sanghas by the government and ensure that election process is held constitutionally and in accordance with the law.

While speaking he further said in his inaugural address that Pre-election preparation workshop was held on July 30, Tuesday for election officers and secretaries of Udipi and Karkala taluk milk producer’s sahakari sanghas at Badagabettu Society auditorium.

R J Kantharaj, deputy administrator of Udipi Zilla Sahakari Sangha has solicited the co-operation from all the sanghas and advised all the sanghas to see that elections were held as per the law and constitutionally. Within two days’ time nomination forms and other election related brochures will be brought out from the department and insisted all the secretaries to obtain compulsorily and added that with this election process could be held systematically.

Kishan Hegde Kolkebail, President Zilla Sahakari Union has presided over the function. B K Salim, deputy. Administrator, Kundapura division sahakari Sangha, Dr Anil Kumar, KMF co-ordinator and Manohar were present.

Ashok Shetty, Vice president of union has welcomed the gathering, Jayakara Shetty Indrali; treasurer has proposed a vote of thanks and H B Jagaddish compered the programme.
