Mangalore, July 24: To respect the Indian army and to pay the tribute to patriot soldiers Dakshina Kannada Retired Soldiers Association will be organising ‘Kargil Day’ at Kadri War Memorial hall on July 26 at 7.30 pm.
Addressing the presspersons Dakshina Kannada Soldiers Association president Colonel Nittegutthu Sharath Bhandari said that appreciating public attempt to build the nation; young soldiers’ sacrifices will be remembered on the occasion and retired soldiers will share their experience about patriotism, strictness and scarifies with students on that day. This is an attempt to create love for nation, he said.
‘1999, July 26 is unforgettable day in the history, hence to remembrance of that day people should burn the candle and keep the golden flower in the memorial to commemorate the Kargil soldiers’, he requested. He further said that in joint association with Centre for Integrated Learning, Mangalore Lions Club and Dakshina kannada former Soldiers organisation, workshop will be organised to inculcate the patriotism in the school children at Lions Service Hall on that day. Disha Amruth will inaugurate the workshop and he will deliver the inspiring words on the occasion, he added.
