Karnataka Polytechnic College to be renovated: Minister Abhaychandra Jain

Mangaluru, December 4: Karnataka Polytechnic (KPT) Alumni Association will hold a reunion on December 27th, informed minister Abhaychandra Jain addressing a press meet held at KPT here on Friday, December 4th.

Abhaychandra Jain, an alumnus of KPT as well as honorary president of the Alumni Association said, in the year 1946, the KPT college was started. Numerous students from Dakshina Kannada and other districts have pursued their education in this college. This is one of the best diploma colleges in the district. But now this college building is in a bad state and it needs to be renovated.

Speaking further, he said, the alumni association has decided to undertake the renovation of this college with the cooperation from the government. In this regard, Rs 90 lakhs has been already sanctioned by the government and the amount will be released soon. It is estimated that about Rs 2.7 crore is needed for the complete renovation of this college. As our college will turn 75 years in 2020, we aim to get it in good condition. In this view, to contribute something to our college, the reunion will be held on December 27th and we request all the former students of this college to participate in this event, he said.

Bhaskar, president of Karnataka Polytechnic Alumni Association said, thousands of students have pursued their education in this college and the alumni are spread across the globe. Karnataka Polytechnic Alumni Association was started in 2001 and was registered in 2002. We request all the former students to participate in the reunion on December 27th.
