Mangaluru, November 30: The valedictory ceremony of ‘Alva’s Nudisiri’ took place at Moodbidri on Sunday November 29th.
Dr T V Venkatachala Shastri presided over the program.
Addressing the gathering, Venkatachala Shastri lauded Dr Mohan Alva, who has been the inspiration behind ‘Nudisiri’ programme. The ‘Nudisiri’, has helped a lot in the development of Kannada language, literature and culture, through creative programmes. He said, the programmes were organized in a systematic manner.
On this occasion, ‘Alva’s Nudisiri’ awards were presented by Dr M Mohan Alva to ten persons for their remarkable achievement in various fields. The awards comprised of cash Rs 25,000, memento, a shawl, garland, and fruits.
Those who received the awards are Dr Bannanje Govindacharya, Dr Sumathindra Nadig, S V Rajendra Singh Babu, Vidwan R K Padmanabha, Dr B N Sumitra Bai, Ishwar Daithota, Leelavathi Baipadithaya, Varthur Narayan Reddy, Honnappachar, and Syed Salahuddin Pasha.
Prior to the stage program, the Alvas Nudisiri awardees were escorted to the stage through a beautiful procession.
Minister Abhaychandra Jain, former minister Amarnath Shetty, Jayashree Amarnath Shetty and others were present on this occasion.
Dr Mohan Alva welcomed the gathering. Andaru Gunapala Hegde proposed the vote of thanks. Kiduru Venugopala Shetty compeered the program.
