Defamatory remarks on Facebook against Pejawar Vishweshatheertha Swamiji, urged for actions against the culprits.

Udupi, November 24: An appeal has been made to Udupi district Superintendent of police K Annamalai on Sunday, urging to take actions against those who posted defamatory remarks on Facebook against Vishweshatheertha Swamiji of Pejavar Mutt.

A delegation comprising of Pejavar Mutt Paryaya Swagata Samiti working president Raghavendra Aacharya, General Secretary Ratnakumar, and Deewan of Pejavar Mutt Raghuram Aacharya, met the SP on Sunday and submitted a complaint letter.

It is said that a person with facebook account bearing the name Abdul Salam has posted derogatory remarks and threat messages on the facebook. The police department has been urged take actions immediately to trace the person or website that has posted such anti-social messages and initiate legal actions, demands the complaint letter.

SP accepted the complaint letter and said he would look into the matter and assured of initiating appropriate actions.

Later a complaint pertaining to this matter was filed in Udupi town police station, and the case has been transferred to the Bengaluru Cyber Crime department for further investigations.
