Puttur, November 18: Actor Vinod Alva who was arrested on Monday on the charges of attempt to murder a person by colliding jeep to the bike of latter. He was produced in Puttur court on Tuesday. He has been remanded under 14 days of judicial custody.
It is said, Sachidananda used to manage all the financial affairs of Vinod Alva. He also had power of attorney issued by Vinod Alva to execute the financial dealings. But On March 7th, 2015, Sachidananda went to Puttur court against Vinod Alva demanding compensation for his work. Before that he handed over the power of attorney back to Vinod Alva.
On 15th November 2015, when Sachidananda was riding his bike to the milk dairy at Eashwaramangala, a jeep dashed to the bike from behind at Kukkaje. The jeep was driven by Udaya Chikithaya, an associate of Vinod Alva, it is learnt.
Later, Sachidananda filed a complaint with the Puttur rural police stating that the bike and jeep accident was done intentionally to kill him as he had moved to the court against Vinod Alva. Sachidananda stated that he faced life threat from Vinod Alva and his driver Udaya Chikithaya and had sought police protection.
Under the guidance of Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police Dr S D Sharanappa, the Puttur town police inspector Mahesh Prasad, Puttur rural police inspector B S Ravi and other police personnel arrested Vinod Alva on Monday, November 16th at his residence.
Vinod Alva was produced to the court on Tuesday with tight police security. The court rejected the bail plea of Vinod Alva and ordered 14 days of judicial custody to him.
The jeep driver of Alva has absconded and the police are on a look out for him.
