Section 144 continues in Ullal, Suratkal in the wake of unpleasant incidents: Police Commissioner S Murugan.

Mangaluru, November 17: Although the Law and Order in Dakshina Kannada District is under control, in the wake of petty incidents reported from Ullal and Suratkal areas; from November 16th to 18th, Section 144 will continue for three days from 6am to 6pm in Ullal and Suratkal areas informed Mangaluru police Commissioner S Murugan.

Police Commissioner informed this while addressing a press meet at his office here on Monday, November 16th. He said, in Ullal and Suratkal areas, along with the police; rapid action force, KSRP platoon are also deployed. In places other than Ullal and Suratkal, section 144 has been lifted. But as a preventive measure in some areas, the liquor shops have been asked to close their shutters, he informed.

As some untoward incidents are taking place in Ullal and Suratkal areas, the public’s must co-operate with the police. Police cannot be deployed for each house and each person. The miscreants are creating trouble in places where the police are away and in isolated areas, he said.

The Commissioner has appealed to the public’s to join hands with the police to trace the miscreants.

In the press meet, DCP Dr Sanjeev Patil was present.
