Harish Poojary murder case: Special teams formed to trace culprits

Mangaluru, November 14: Special police teams are formed led by SP to trace the accused in connection to the murder of Harish Poojay in Halegatu, Navoor and also stabbing Shamiulla said, ADGP Alok Mohan.

He organized a special meeting at Bantwal town police station with the Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, IGP Amrut Paul, and local police officers in connection to the untoward incidents that took place on Thursday in BC Road and Manihalla. Post the meeting, the ADGP spoke to the media representatives and said, related to the incident, the investigations are in progress.

He clarified that, so far no arrests are made in connection to this incident and added that including IRB, and KSRP; 1500 police personnels have been deployed as a precautionary measure in the taluk. Though the prohibitory act has been enforced for three days, the DC will take further actions depending on the situation, he informed.
On this occasion, SP Dr SD Sharanappa, Bantwal ASP Rahul Kumar, C.I Belliappa, Thashildhar Purandara Hegde were present.

He then visited the spot in BC Road where untoward incident had taken place on Thursday evening, and inspected.

Stone pelting- four arrested:

In connection to the stone pelting incidents at Kalladka, Thumbe, Kaikamba and other places, police arrested four persons, it is learnt.

In the wake of the untoward incidents reported on Thursday in the district from Bantwal taluk, section 144 was enforced across the district till the 10pm on November 15th to bring law and order under control.

The schools and colleges have been declared holiday. The district is returning to normalcy and the district administration has taken precautionary measures across the district to maintain law and order.

Additional police forces have been summoned to the district from neighbouring districts such as Uttara kananda, Udupi, Chickamagalur and Kerala. In addition, the senior officials have personally visited Bantwal, Puttur, Belthangady and other places in the district and have taken measures to take the situation under control.

On Friday, ADGP Alok Mohan visited various places of the district along with Deputy Commissioner and senior police officers and examined the measures taken to maintain law and order. In addition the ADGP camped at Bantwal and passed directions to maintain law and order.
