Mangaluru, November 5: One phase of struggle against the Yettinahole project is over; a delegation would be taken to the centre on November 25th demanding to stop this project and also urge not to provide the environment consent for the project, which is a threat to the Karavali, said MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Addressing a press meet, the MP said, for the implementation of Yettinahole project, permission from the Department of Environment is also needed. Hence we will meet central minister Prakash Javdekar and Umabharathi and submit a memorandum urging them not to provide the environment consent, he informed.
The law and order in the state has worsened. Over a span of 25 days, seven murders took place in Karavali which is a development of concern. But four ministers from this place have remained quiet, he criticized. This is the first time in state that murder using weapons is taking place in prison. Although such incident has taken place, the Home Minster has not yet visited the district and convened meetings. He has not taken any measures. The state government has kept the citizens in anxiety, complained the MP.
Drugs smuggling and sand mafiya have increased in district. No pro-people programs are being done by the government. The state government has seen complete failure. On this account on November 9th a citizens awareness program will be organized near the Dr B R Ambedkar circle in front of town hall here, said MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
In view to open the failure of the state government before the citizens, “Janasankalpa Yatre” will be held from November 13th to November 22nd. Meetings will be held continuously for ten days at various places. The program will be inaugurated at Subramanya on November 13th. This march will move till Kateel and culminates later, informed BJP district president Pratapsimha Nayak.
