Land slides again in Farangipet: DK DC Ibrahim inspects incident spot, visits houses.

Bantwal, July 16: Following the landslide incident at a under construction site in Farangipet which has claimed the lives of three workers; soil has again slid from the nearby mountain on the following night.

Due to the heavy showers which were received after mid night 3am, massive amount of soil has once again slid on the construction site. Due to this, the site has been covered by enormous amount of soil. As the rain has gained momentum, there are further signs of  landslides.

The Dakshina Kananda Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim has inspected the spot of incident on Wednesday morning. Later he visited the houses which are in danger and directed the PDO to make temporary residential arrangements for those families.

Taluk administration has opened Ganji Kendra in Sujiru government school. But the effected house hold have denied to go there, and said that they would go to their relatives house.

MP’s Visit: MP Nalin Kumar also visited the incident spot at Farangipet on Wednesday. Later he visited the Gram panchayat and instructed to issue notices to the people who constructed houses without leaving place by the side of the Highway. He also instructed to take measures to clear the coconut trees those pose danger. He said, it would be the responsibility of the owner as well as the building contractor to reach the bodies of the deceased workers who died in this mishap to their native.

Dead bodies placed in Wenlock mortuary:

The dead bodies of the deceased workers Milone, Torikole and Maiminol who expired in the mishap on Tuesday are kept in the mortuary at Wenlock hospital. The family of one among the deceased is expected to arrive at Mangaluru on Thursday to take the dead body to their native place. But the addresses of the rest two deceased are not clear, informed Bantwal Circle inspector K U Belliappa.

Tahsildar Purandara Hegde, taluk panchayat CEO Cipriyan Miranda, Revenue Inspector Narayana Poojari, Village accountant Pradeep, ZP assistant executive engineer Narendra Babu, junior engineer Ravichandra were present.

ZP former member Umar Farooq, Lakshmi- Pudu gram panchayat president, vice president- Mohammad Sharif, members Mohammed Haseer, Khader Pavur, Akhtar Hussain and others gave the information to the authorities.
