Addressing the gathering, Prince Jacob said, the Konkani film journey began in the year 1950. I had a dream to bring together the talent of  Konkan belt and Goa together. I directed the film ‘Padri’ which was a grand success. I have another wish to make a movie in order to bring together the talent of coastal region. I wish all success to the ‘Konkani Filmotsav’ and I thank Mandd Sobhann for its support for Konkani films, said Prince Jacob.

Roy Castelino, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy said, we have to join together and make Konkani shine. This is a historic day for Konkani film industry. It has been noticed that Konkani speaking people are major viewers of Tulu films and we support a lot to other film industries. We must create a healthy competition between Konkani and Tulu movies. We need to release a full scale Konkani film soon and as the president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, I am ready to extend all my support towards this, said Roy castelino.

Louis Pinto, president of Mandd Sobhann, Eric Ozario, Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann,  Joywin Fernandes, director of the film ‘MMS’, Stany Alvares, and others were present.
