Mangaluru, June 16: While attempting to steal cattle, the Cattle thieves were chased by the villagers at Sullia on the night of Tuesday, June 16th while a thief was caught red handed.
It is learnt that four men had attempted to steal cattle that were wandering around Kana in Sullia town.
While the thieves were loading the cattle into the auto-rickshaw, the locals who noticed this chased them and managed to catch one among them, but his three associates have escaped.
The main accused Murugan was caught and thrashed by the locals who handed him over to the cops.
The other three accused who have escaped are identified as Prabhakar Bandadka, Ummar Pandi and Babu Gandinagar.
A case has been registered at Sullia police station. Murugan was produced before the court and has been detained under judicial custody.
