Mangaluru, June 6: The officers of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Mangaluru, seized 2.2 kg of gold concealed in the toilet of Jet Airways aircraft on Saturday June 6th.
Acting on an intelligence that gold of foreign origin was concealed by an international passenger in Jet Airways aircraft, to be retrieved later by a domestic passenger boarding at Mangaluru, the DRI officers rummaged Jet Airways flight number 9W 531 coming from Dubai to Mangaluru.
It is learnt that during search of the rear toilet of the said aircraft, two packets containing 22 pieces of gold bars of foreign origin, each weighing 100 grams, totally weighing 2.2 kg and approximately valued at Rs 60 lakh were seized.
