Mangalore,May.02: The officers of Customs at Mangalore International Airport on 02.05.2015, seized 11(Eleven) Kilograms of ‘TASHRIFAT’ brand Iranian Saffron approximately valued at Rs.13,75,000/- (Rupees Thirteen Lakhs Seventy Five Thousand only), from a passenger Shri. Moideen Salman, who arrived from Dubai.
The passenger had concealed the saffron along with clothes and other personal effects inside two carton boxes which were brought by him as his checked in baggage. The passenger Shri. Moideen Salman, aged about 23 years, who arrived at Mangalore International Airport on 02.05.2015 at about 07.50 hrs by Jet Airways Flight No. 9W531 from Dubai, is a resident of Kasaragod, Kerala. Further investigation is under progress.
