City crime branch cops nab prime accused in Keshava Shetty murder case.

Mangaluru, February 5:  The prime accused in the murder of BJP activist and businessman Keshava Shetty was arrested by the city crime branch (CCB) cops on Wednesday February 4th.

The accused is identified as Satish alias Sachu alias Satish Soorinje (30), a resident of Katipalla. He is an associate of underworld don Vicky Shetty, police said.

On the morning of January 6th, Keshava Shetty (35) was murdered at Janatabettu, Soorinje near Kinnigoli falling under Suratkal police station limits. Satish had chased and hacked Keshava to death when he had arrived to the ground to play badminton.

The prime accused had remained elusive. Five persons had been arrested in connection to the case three days after the murder. Lithesh Shetty, Shobi alias Shobhraj, Yuvaraj alias Appu, Krishna and Bharat, who had helped in carrying out the crime were arrested and are currently kept under judicial custody.

The CCB cops after obtaining reliable information, arrested Satish near Talapady bus stop falling under Ullal police station limits.

Satish faces eight cases registered against him. Satish has been handed over to Suratkal police station for further questioning.

Directed by police commissioner S Murugan, guided by DCP Santosh Babu, and led by CCB inspector Valentine D’Souza, this operation was carried out.
