Kunil Complex theft case- City Crime Branch cops arrest duo burglars.

Mangaluru, January 29: The city crime branch cops have arrested two persons in relation to the theft that had taken place at Kunil Complex at Ganapati High School Road in the city on January 25th– 2015. The arrested have been named as main accused in the crime.

The arrested men are Junaid alias Mohammed Junaid (22), resident of Kallapittal house, Ansari Road, Bunder here, and Mohammed Rafiq (30), resident of Azaria Apartments, Ansari road here.

In a complaint filed in the Bunder police station here, Fairoze Ahmed had said that he was in the company of his friend, Rajesh, in Kunil Complex here on January 25th, when a group of five-member gang attacked them, and had kept both of them in illegal captivity from 3.30 pm to 9 pm that day, and burgled their belongings. Cash in the possession of Fairoze Ahmed was snatched away, and his ATM card was robbed. A total sum of Rs 1,01,000 was withdrawn by using ATM card, and a cheque belonging to Fairoz was got signed by him after filling up the amount as Rs 75,000, alleged the complainant.

Police had registered a case based on the complaint filed on January 26th.

In a brisk operation, based on credible information about the presence of the accused, city crime branch inspector, Valentine D’Souza, and his staff took both the accused into custody on January 28th, and handed them over to Bunder police station. Police are on a lookout for the other three culprits.

It is learnt that among the accused, Junaid is facing a complaint of theft which took place at Mataji Sanitary falling under Bunder station jurisdiction in Mangaluru.

The police have recovered cash Rs 7,880 and two cell phones from them. The accused are handed over to the Mangaluru north police station for further probing.
