Four day long ‘Alva’s Virasat-2015’ to commence from January 8th.

Mangaluru, January 5: Dr Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, has informed that, the cultural extravaganza ‘Alva’s Virasat-2015’, at Alva’s Education Foundation will take place at Alva’s palace ground at Vidyagiri from January 8th to January 11th.

Dr Mohan Alva addressed a press meet at press club in the city on Monday January 5th and said, Alva’s Virasat National Award-2015 will be conferred to noted sarod player Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, winner of Padmashree and Padma Bhushan awards.

The first day of Alva’s Virasat 2015 will begin at 5.15 pm with traditional procession escorting the guests of honour to the dais.

Dr D Veerendra Hegde, Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala will inaugurate the program. Dr N Vinay Hegde, Chairman, NITTE Education Trust, will preside over the program.

B Ramanath Rai, minister of State for forests, ecology and environment, , Abhayachandra Jain, minister of State for Fisheries, Sports and Youth Services, U T Khader, minister for Health and Family Welfare, Vinay Kumar Sorake, minister of State for Urban development, A B Ibrahim, Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, former minister K Amarnath Shetty, P Jayaram Bhat, CEO of Karnataka Bank, V N Krishna Kumar, CEO of Canara bank , MN Rajendra Kumar, SCDCC Bank Chairman, Suresh Bhandary of Mumbai and others will be invited as the guests.

Variety of music and dance will be presented by the artists from all over the globe. Special programs by Shivamani and team’s ‘Mahaleela’ and musical night by visually impaired and special performance by physically challenged will also be showcased to the audience.

On January 9th from 8.30 pm, the audience will get a chance to witness the spellbound performance of Kalaimamani Shivamani and his team.

On January 10th, music and dance lovers will be entertained by the performance “Ankhiyon Ke Zaaronkho Se” performed by 30 visually challenged from Mumbai and dance performance ‘Miracles on Wheels’ will be presented by physically challenged.

Punjab’s Army Band will be present a special programme which is a special attraction during the four day celebration of the Alva’s Virasat 2015. Fountains and flower show will be organised during the programme.

During the press meet, Dr Padmanaba, Venugopal Shetty and Jeevan Ram Sulya were present.
