Mangaluru, December 23: A twelve year old girl, Savitha Bagalkot died after she accidentally slipped into a unused well near her residence at Bejai on Tuesday afternoon, December 23rd.
Savitha, is the daughter of Parasappa and Shantabai from Lingapur in Badami, Bagalkot district.
It is gathered that the girl when was playing in the vicinity with her friends; their ball fell on the net covering the deserted well. Savitha climbed over the wall of the well to get it back. But, all of a sudden she lost control and slipped into the well.
On hearing the screams of the children, local residents rushed to the spot and informed fire personnel.
The well is located near an unoccupied house close to Bejai museum. The family of the girl stays in the same neighbourhood in a rented house.
The fire service and the cops had arrived at the spot and retrieved the body from the well.
