Primacy Industries, a candle manufacturing factory rebuilt in record time of 6 months; Production commences

Mangalore, July 10: Primacy Industries, the country’s largest candle export house at Baikampady was completely gutted by a devasting fire accident to ash on January 10, 2013.

Though there were no casualties or injuries had been reported, the entire plant, machinery, equipment, raw materials, packaging items and finished products worth several crores were reduced to ashes. It had taken marathon efforts lasting about 40 hours to douse the massive fire completely. The fire had left the entire factory in ashes.

Within six months the factory has now been rebuilt and production has commenced, bringing back happiness to hundreds of employees of Primacy, which is one of the largest employers at the Baikampady Industrial Estate.

V K Talithaya,president,Primacy Industries said in his address that the fire destroyed everything and we felt devasted but it kindled our determination to build the complete factory again at the record period of six months’ time.
Gautham Pai, chairman, primacy Industries, while commending team’s achievement said that “I am happy to know that operation of the company has resumed and hope to see all the happy faces back at work again. He added that this stupendous feat of the management team draws inspiration from the Group’s guiding philosophy that regards ‘people first”.

Sagar Mukhyopadhyaya, vice president (corporate affairs) at the Manipal group of which Primacy Industries is a constituent enterprise said that ‘we could not have accomplished this without the support of the local communities, authorities, financial institutions, vendors and customers who have trusted our group’s credibility and reposed confidence in our abilities.
