Bantwal,August 19:The Bantwal rural police have subsequently taken three more persons into custody in connection with murder case of Rifayi, an autorickshaw driver, near Maripalla, Bantwal. The total number of arrested persons has rised to 8.
The newly three taken into custody are identified as the residents of Maripalla Hafiz(27),Hanif alias Mada Hanif(30) and Imran (25).They were taken into custody under an operation carried out at Uppinangady.They were produced before the magistrate on Tuesday and imprisonment order is passed on them.One more accused is yet to be taken into custody and the cops are looking for him.
Already Thumbe village resident, presently residing at a rented house at Kasargod Abdul Khadar alias Balakai Khadar’s son Siraj(32), Mangalore Taluk, Arkula resident Dhanaraj(20) and Asif(20),resident of Perimar close to Maripalla, Kadaba resident Shabuddin and Ujre resident Ganesh who had been arrested by the cops were subjected to Judicial custody. Among the arrested members, Siraj is the brother of Naushad who was murdered on June 21st of last june.
The imprisoned are shifted to the other district jail.
The two murder cases at Maripalla are interlinked to each other and are undergoing a tedious situation. Thereby the prisoners of the two murder cases are thought of shifting to other districts jail apart from Mangalore as a security measure stated the Circle Inspector Mr K. U. Belliappa.
Mr Kunnimonu resident of Sajeeru-Badigudde close to Maripalla ; his son Mohammad Rifayi who was a rickshaw driver by profession. Mohammad Rifayi’s rickshaw was taken on hire on August 8th by the miscreants and he was badly murdered using weapons close to Nethra Kere. Later the mortal remains were thrown close to a bush where the rain water flows through a stream and the miscreants had escaped. The body of Rifayi was found on August 10th Sunday morning. The victim Rifayi was the relative of murderers of Naushad who was murdered on June 21st.Also the murderers have committed the murder in the same way as of Naushad’s murder. Hence the police on confirming that it is a revenge murder, carried an operation to arrest the accused. The cops are successful in taking the accused under custody.
Rifayi’s body was found at Netharekere on Aug 10 with the injury marks on head, legs and hands. In order to take revenge against Thousif, one of the accused in the murder, the gang targeted his brother.
According to locals, the clash began with the stabbing of Nooruddin by Naushad. Rifayi was said to be very silent and honest auto rickshaw driver in the area and did not have any criminal background.
Rifayi, was married six month ago and his wife is carryingby four months now.
