The passengers were permitted to travel by the same ticket the next day.
TTE appreciated for saving lives:

Never accept food stuffs from strangers:
Throughout the areas from Kolnad to Tokur which comes under the Konkan railway, it has undertaken sudden investigation, guards and other measures in order to check the illegal activities.
Very often, the media as well as the railway department will be warning the passengers about the incidents related to the burglary done by the strangers who develop friendship with the travelers, offer them with hallucinated foods and finally Robb them. Even now such events occur where the people still trust the strangers and accepting their foodstuffs on pitying them which results in losing their things and risking their lives.
