An official, who spoke in Tamil, said that three trains, including from Mumbai and Goa, were to enter into the station at the same time on a single line. Hence, to give way to the other trains, the Yeswantpur-Karwar train was halted.

Taking the opportunity to express their unhappiness over the railway junction, the people who gathered there said that earlier there were three display machines showing train timings, but now there was only one. The taxi drivers complained about the unclean toilets.

Some said that there was information available in Kannada and that most of the staff and officials at the station did not know the local language. Railway police force arrived at the spot.

It was past noon by the time the train resumed its journey.
