Mangalore, Jun 11: On Wednesday June 11, JD(S) party workers protested in front of Mangalore City Corporation for allegedly abusing their party corporator Abdul Azeez.
The protestors were referring to the chaos that erupted at the MCC office on Tuesday June 10 after residents of Kandak protested against the proposed ice plant in their area. The additional town planning officer (ATPO) had alleged that the protest was a conspiracy by corporator Azeez.
The JD(S) members were angered for not taking action against ATPO Shivaraj. When the protesters tried to enter the office, police blocked them and the protesters then started to demand to see MCC commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde.
Finally, Ajith Hegde came out and accepted the appeal from the protesters, and assured that he would take the right decision after studying the matter.
Corporator Abdul Azeez, A Vasanth Poojary, JD(S) general secretary, J Mohammed, Mohammed Kunhi, Ratnakar Suvarna, Ram Ganesh, Srinath Rai, Akshith Suvarna, R Dhanraj and others were present during the protest.
