Amrit Paul as new IGP for Western Range

Mangalore, May 20: Amrit Paul, IPS., is appointed as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Western Range, revealed sources. The last serving was Pratap Reddy, IPS., who was transferred in March 2014. Mangalore city police commissioner R Hitendra, IPS., was holding the charge of the office till date.

The history of Amrit Paul is such that, the people of Mangalore have high expectations from him, he is going to play a vital role in Mangalore. An IPS officer of 1995 batch got into Police service in Bidar in 1998, later served as SP of Udupi from June 2000 to July 2003, SP of Bidar from July 2003 to November 2004. He was appointed as Assistant IGP (crime) in November 2004 till August 2006, SP of Bellary till May 2008, and then as DIGP (internal security) in Bangalore from 2012. He now comes as IGP Western Range for Mangalore
