Mangalore, April 29: The death of Kabeer coupled with the actions of his associates has to be reinvestigated and also the compensation announced to Kabeer’s family should be taken back urged the Dakshina Kannada BJP leaders giving their requisition to the Governor.
The ruling Congress Government seems to have forgotten that many complaints have been registered against people stealing and transporting cows. Kabeer was behaving unlawfully when he was shot. Such incidents should be dealt without bias. The police should be given more equipment. The murder charge on the police should be withdrawn. All these were mentioned in the requisition.
The Government should change its attitude to law breakers. The letter was given to the Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sadhashiva Prabhu to forward it to the Governor.
Among the BJP protestors included the Dakshina Kannada President Prathap Simha Nayak, former minister Krishna J. Palemar, B. Nagaraj Shetty, MLC K. Monappa Bhandary, former MLA K. Padmanabha Kottaree, Mallica Prasad, A. Rukmaiah Poojaree, stalwarts of BJP including Tungappa Bangera, Sateesh Prabhu, Pushpalatha Gattee, Shailajah K.T. Bhat, Kasturee Panja, Sharada Rai, Kishore Rai, Gurucharan and others.
