ROTA JC to inaugurate special school for Down Syndrome kids at Puttur

Mangalore, April 25: ROTA JC Down Syndrome Academy, a special school for children suffering from Down syndrome will be inaugurated at Rotary Manisha Building, Puttur on April 28, said JCI president Muliya Krishna Narayana.

Speaking at the press meet held Press Club on April 25, Friday, he said that the academy will be establish with the joint venture of Junior Chamber of India and Rotary Puttur, with an aim to provide quality life for children suffering from Down Syndrome.

He also said that school will commence on World Down Syndrome Day on June 2. The necessity of the school was felt after seeing the disability and achievement of Suresh Nayak of Puttur.

Narayana also said that the Academy will function for kids in the age group of 5 and 18 suffering from Down Syndrome from Monday to Friday, 10 am to 3 pm. The monthly fee for the children will be Rs 300. Further, the organization will plan to setup physiotherapy unit in the future, he added.
