Mangalore, April 22: After a month since, the body of Rohit Radhakrishnan (23) was found near Tannir Bavi beach with head severed, advocate M S Radhakrishnan, father of Rohit, has filed a writ petition with the high court of Karnataka, seeking postmortem report, field mahassar, vehicle mahassar, videos and photographs of the scene and the postmortem conducted.
It is learnt that after the preliminary investigation Panambur police had claimed the body as freak accident, but Rohit’s parents, relatives and media cried foul and demanded for a free and fair enquiry in to the case. Later the Panambur police registered a case of murder on IPC 302 and started the investigation process, but it has reported no progress so far.
According to Rohit’s family members, police has failed to handle the situation, preserving the murder scene, informing the relatives and even conducting autopsy.
Radhakrishnan said those police officials are not ready to question Rohit’s friends Arjun Panicker and Gopi Krishnan, who were there with him during his last moments. The police are also withholding the postmortem report even after a month and are failing to release the same.
