Govt orders CID probe into Kabir’s case, announces Rs 5 lakh compensation

Mangalore, April 21: State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader said that the government has decided to provide the amount of Rs 5 lakh compensation to the family of cattle trader Kabeer, who was killed in an ANF firing near Shringeri check post on April 19, Saturday.

Speaking on the sidelines of a function at Ujire on April 20, Sunday, he said that government has ordered a judicial and CID probe into the incident of Kabir’s encounter.

He also said that he will direct the police officials to take action against the Hindu activists, who had assaulted Kabir’s family, who had been to Shringeri to get back his body.

The taxi driver Abdul Salam, who had travelled to Shringeri with Kabir’s fa,ily had suffered injuries in his eye and fingers were fractured during the attack, he said.
