Mangalore,Mar 15: DC A B Ibrahim said that as per the survey made on January 31, there are a total of 15,30,071 voters from eight assembly constituencies.
Speaking at the press meet held at DC office on March 15, Saturday, he said that out of 15,30,071 voters, 7,72,188 are women, while 7,57,883 are men voters. Compared to the previous list, this year there are additional voters in the district. A total of 1766 polling booths will be set up in the district, he added.
Following the guidelines for the candidates, DC said that before organising any procession, the candidates have to seek permission. The expenses of the procession organised will be included in the candidate’s election expenses.
As per the rules, only four members can accompany the candidate during the time of filing the nomination, he said.
DC said that the testing of 1980 upgraded controlling units and 2520 Balloting units provided by the Bharath Electronics Limited for the elections have started at Mini Vidhana Saudha at the Taluk office.
