Congress violated election code of conduct in convention held at Kalladka: Pratap Simha Nayak

Mangalore, Mar 10: The BJP district president Pratap Simha Nayak said that Congress had violated the election code of conduct by organizing the convention at Kalladka on March 8, Saturday, which led to the clashes between Sangh Parivar members and Congress partyworkers.

He was speaking at a press meet at District BJP office on March 9, Sunday, he said that on the very next day of deputy commissioner’s announcement regarding the elections, the congress organised covention disrupted peace and district BJP will take the issue to the election commission.

District president said that the clash sparked due to the statement made by Congress member Chandraprakash Shetty against RSS leader Dr Prabhakar Bhat. Defaming an individuals itself a code of conduct. They had purposely organized the convention to criticize Dr Bhat and BJP also has the video footage of the defamatory speech and in two days we will submit the evidence to the election commission and urged to take action against them, he added.

He also said that  he along with former MLA Rukmayya Poojary visited the spot of the incident and also met IGP and the police commissioner in this regard so ensure proper security arrangement in a sensitive place like Kalladka.
