Mangalore, March 1: The leaders of various organizations and parties have urged the district administration to remove all banners, cut-outs and buntings of political parties across the district at the district level peace committee meeting held at DC office on February 28, Friday.
Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim presided over the event.
Kannada Sahitya Parishat District President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that while following the election code of conduct, the officials must ensure that banners of to religious programmes are not removed.
District BJP Vice President Nitin Kumar and DCC General Secretary Sadashiv Ullal, said that the officials must pass an order to remove unauthorized banners.
Ibrahim Kodijal, Interim President of District Congress said the banners and posters erected in the district have created unrest due to the increasing rumours.
DC assured the people present in the meeting to remove all unauthorized banners and cut-outs and urged the leaders of various parties to unite the people of society through their speeches but not divide them.
SP Shanthanu Sinha, DCP Vishnuvardhan, Additional DC K Dayanand, Assistant Commissioner Dr Prashanth and other officials were present.
