Mangalore, Feb 26: A two-and-a-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped by unidentified miscreants in city recently.
The incident came into light when the child’s parents, hailing from Manjeshwar, noticed injury marks on private parts and admitted her to the private hospital. After the medical examination, doctors confirmed that the child was raped.
It is learnt that family had come to Mangalore to stay in their relative’s house and child was dischargedon Monday.
According to the police sources, the parents were not willing to lodge the complaint against the accused and insisting to close the case.
A team led by a Manjeshwar police station sub-inspector conducted a primary inquiry.
Further, Pandeshwar police and Manjeshwar police are investigating the case.
