He also said that how can fix the day for foundation stone laying ceremony for the project, when it has not got any clearance from former union environment minister Jayanthi Natarajan.

He also criticized D V Sadananda Gowda who has given a nonsense statement that Yettinahole project would not affect the Western Ghats including a single plant.

He also said that on the previous visit, CM Siddaramaiah had assured to collect the public opinion on project before implementing, but all went in vain.  Some of the local political leaders have been supporting the project for their own selfish political gains, while others remain as dumb spectators, he said.

M G Hegde questioned CM Siddaramaiah, the reason for ignoring the problem of coastal region. He said that CM is unaware that Coastal region is in Karnataka and trying to settle the issue. Hence the bundh will be observed as ‘dark day’ and government is indirectly responsible for the bandh.

P V Mohan said it is the responsibility of every people of the district to support the bandh, since further everyone will have to suffer due to this project.

Samithi members Denis D’Silva, Shashiraj Shetty Kolambe, Dinesh Holla, Uttam Alva, Dinkar Chandra Shetty and others were present.
