Mangalore : Dr.Vina Vaswani has recently been conferred with the Toastmasters’ top award-the DTM(Distinguished Toastmaster) by the Toastmasters International, a worldwide organization dedicated to Oratory skills and leadership. She thus becomes the first toastmaster of the prestigious Mangalore Toastmasters Club to achieve the coveted title.
DTM is the highest award to members who have achieved both the ACG and ALS awards.
It takes about 5 -8 years of dedicated service and leadership to achieve this award. A Distinguished Toastmaster must perform more than 40 public presentations.
Dr. Vina has always shown great enthusiasm and exceptional interest in taking up and learning every bit from the Toastmasters International.
She has served on the club board as the President and on the District Board as the Area Governor.
Her club members report how they enjoy her speeches as they are always spiked with humour and come from her personal experiences of her extensive travel abroad.
Dr. Vina Vaswani is Director,Centre for Ethics. , Professor and HOD Forensic medicine and toxicology at Yenepoya Hospital, Deralakatte. She is married to Dr. Ravi Vaswani and is the mother of 2 young talented children – Ankita and Adhithya.
