Karkala; Feb 19: Condemning the delay in disposal of policy files, indifferent attitude of the staff with public with regard to documents, demand by the staff for bribe from the public for their works get done and many more other related issues Karkala taluk Pragathipara Nagarika Vedhike and Karnataka Rakshana Vedhike jointly staged a protest on Feb 19, Wednesday in front of taluk office.
The protestor and the leader of labor union H.K.Shridhar Shetty while addressing alleged that tahsildar in the pretext of computerization, unnecessarily creating hindrance in public services. When the application is submitted for obtaining duplicate copies of the documents, after harassing several months, finally he says document is not available. This attitude of irresponsibility of the tahsildar is highly condemned he said.
He further said that due to the negligence of the authorities, farmers have to undergo hardships, problems as there are many typing errors in the informations printed on the documents. But staffs do not even have the courtesy of correcting the mistakes and this is the classic example of their irresponsibility. If we submit our application for phlating in 11E form, suddenly without bringing to the notice of the applicant, staffs are rejecting the applications.
If we ask any documents under information act, they say that it is under consideration for several months and finally after harassing, they don’t give any information about that. In spite of all these, nobody has taken any action against those officers, this is clear cut indication of lapse in the administrative machineries, he added.
In this regard though an appeal has been submitted to Kundapur sub-divisional officers, sub-divisional officers by rejecting the same, created a danger, he alleged.
Further he demanded the immediate transfer of some of the arrogant corrupt officers in the taluk office and to appoint sincere officers who can serve the public in a better way.
The memorandum was submitted to tahsildar urging him to meet some of their demands after the protest.
Kerebettu Sanjeeva Shetty, president of Pragathipara Nagarika Vedhike, Karnataka Rakshana Vedhike district leader Shivaprasad Shetty, Nitish Poojary, Vittala Gowda, Krishna Devadiga and among others were present on the occasion.
