Brahmavar: A case of commotion in Brahmavar; police arrests 7 BD activists

Udupi; Feb 17: Brahmavar police have arrested 7 Bajrang Dal activists in connection with damaging shops and police jeep by throwing stones during Brahavar Bandh on Feb 16, Sunday.

Sunil Kumar,Ganesh,Ravi Shetty,Suresh Mendon,Kushala Nayaka,Dinakara Nayaka,Raghavendra Poojary were the arrested accused. Accused have been produced in Udupi court and court has slapped them 14 days judicial custody.

A case was registered in Brahmavar police station against VHP district president Suprasad Shetty and around 20 people including BJP leader Vilas Nayak in connection with damaging Brahmavar police stations authority’s Jeep and Sudhesh Transport office and shopping mall by throwing stones during Bandh.

Amongst the accused, main accused Suprasad and Vilas Nayak have gone undergone and in this connection heavy hunt is on. At the same time atmosphere of disturbed Brahmavar was reported peaceful and police security has been continued.

Hiriyadka:

Hiriyadka police have arrested one man in Hiriyadka, accused of damaging minister Vinaya Kumar Sorake’s office during Bandh.

Arrested has been identified as Prajwal, a BD activist. He was released on bail later. The remaining accused Prasad, Santhosh, Sujith have gone underground. Search is continued in this regard. A case was registered in Hiriyadka police station in this regard. Hunt is on for two robbers.

Police search is continued for the arrest of Parkala Pranesh and Manoj, who have been accused in kidnapping Katpady Muhammed Yasir and robbed his bike and mobile on Jan 07.

Already police have arrested Atrady Ritesh Soans, Sandeep Parkala, Sudhir Hiriyadka, Muhammed Hani Katpady, Ratan Perdur and Dinesh Mendon Hiriyadka and they are under judicial custody.

A case was registered in Hiriyadka police station in this regard.
